C'est mon choix

Probably many of you are looking for a nice chat show in French. As we know well, it's very important to listen to the language which we try to master. It helps us to revise the vocabulary and get used to the accent. When it comes to me, for around a year I've been watching an interesting chat show called ''C'est mon choix''. There're plenty of episodes of it on Youtube then it's totally easy to find that. Each episode is about something different and lasts around 50 minutes. Guests of the show are normal people who talk about their problems which are usually not very serious. It's often funny and even shocking. I do my best to watch it quite regularly and I've noticed that thanks to this chat show my vocabulary is much better. I really recommend all of you this TV show!! :)

Pretty Little Things

Some time ago I discovered an online shop selling a wide range of clothes. This shop is called "Pretty Little Things". You can type it in Google and there are lots of clothes at different prices. Dresses, skirts, tops, shorts, sweaters, jackets, playsuits, shoes, accessories... everything what you want.  Gorgeous dresses for parties and other special occasions as well as fashionable clothes which you can wear on a daily basis. Im delighted and that's why I visit this website very often. I like many clothess offered by this store and I've already ordered two outfits: a summer dress and a playsuit. I'm looking forward to getting the delivery. It's coming from London then I've got to be patient. I already know which clothes I will order next time.
I really recommend all of you this online shop!! :)

After Christmas I'm flying to Copenhagen where I will celebrate New Year's Eve but actually, I don't even know if I will go to a party or I will stay at home :D
What about your plans?

Narcolepsy

Few days ago, while having a conversation with my friend, she told me about her Univeristy mate suffering from narcolepsy. I knew nothing about this disorder. My friend explained me that the girl tends to fall asleep during lessons. Actually, she said that whenever she sees her, she always sleeps. I was truly shocked. After, I read some information on the Internet about this disorder and it appears that the reasons of narcolepsy are not known for the moment but probably, they are related to the phase of sleeping called REM( rapid eye movement). First symptoms of narcolepsy appear during puberty or even over the age of 20! People struggling with it have difficulties in falling asleep at night. The disorder is incurable.
My friend also told me that the girl is frequently robbed for instance while sleeping on the tram :(
I think that we are really lucky not to struggle with this life-limiting disorder.

Qandeel Baloch

Have you ever heard about this Pakistani model? At the age of 26 she was murdered by her own brother! Qandeel Baloch was not like a typical Pakistani girl. She was always against the strict  rules in Pakistan. She used to say that she was an inspiration for badly-treated women. In one interview, she revealed that being 17y.o her family wanted to force her to marry an ignorant boy but finally, he didn't become her husband. She was always dreaming of being famous. Her Instagram had plenty of followers and she used to publish revealing pictures which might seem to be not appropriate for many people( including her family).
That's why, one day, her brother gave her sleeping tablets and after he strangled her. He claims that she was a shame for the family and therefore, he made up his mind about killing her.

Incestous relationships

Some time ago I read a very appealing article about marriages between cousins in some Asian countries. It appears that this phenomenon is becoming more and more common in Europe because of Asian emigrants living for instance in Great Britain and in Scandinavian countries.
I've found out that in the view of the Koran, Muslim people can't marry their parents or their siblings BUT they can marry their own cousins! I find it truly shocking but for these people it's nothing extraordinary. It's their culture.
According to some research, many children, who are born this way, have plenty of health issues or are disabled. 30% of British children, who suffer from genetical diseases, are from Pakistani families and around 70% of Pakistani people marry their cousins!
What do you think about this kind of relationships??

How to get to Copenhagen?

In this post I want to present you some ways of getting to the capital city of Denmark.
1) you can fly from Poznan to Swedish Malmo and after in Malmo there's a bus going directly to Copenhagen.
The journey lasts maximum one hour and a half then it's very fast! The price of plane tickets starts from 39zl. It's so cheap! If it comes to the the bus' price, it's only 100 crowns ( around 62zl) for students.
2) you can also go on the bus ( for instance PolskiBus) to Berlin Schonefeld and in Berlin Schonefeld there's a flight to Copenhagen.
The journey from Poznan to Berlin lasts 3 hours and costs 40-50 zl and the flight to Copenhagen with EasyJet costs from 150zl to even more than 1000zl( particularly on the weekends) and it takes less than an hour.
3) you can choose a Flixbus going from Poznan straight to Copenhagen.
Unfortunately, this way of getting to Copenhagen is so long! It takes around 13 hours! The price is 100-200zl.
For me, the best option is the first one and I usually go like this :)

Santorini

During my last trip to Greece, I was so lucky to see Santorini. Have you ever heard about this island? I'm sure that you have seen many times pictures of Santorini's architecture on the Internet or in encyclopeadias. But first of all, how did I get there from Crete? I bought an organised trip in a travel agency in Heraklion. It cost around 600zloty per person.
Our journey to Santorini started very early in the morning. At 6am the bus came to take us to the harbour. After about 40 minutes we got there. The cruise last more than 2 hours. In the island there were special buses waiting for us( for English&German-speaking people, French-speaking people and Russian-speaking people) with guides talking about Santorini. The bus took us to three places- the center of the island famous for narrow streets and buildings with white walls and blue roofs, the area with numerous churches and the beach.
Santorini is an exceptional place in the world. It's worth visiting but it's also expensive. Personally, I wish I hadnt bought the organised trip because unfortunately, we didn't have too much time for each place. We had only 40 minutes so we had to be in a hurry. That's something what I didn't like at all buy anyway, I really recommed this Greek island!

Greece

I really need to write about an unforgettable trip to Greece! At the beginning of October I went to Crete for a week. Luckily, it was an organised trip then I didn't have to be worried about food, accomodation and transfer from the airport to the hotel because all this was included in the price.
The flight was not too long. As I remember it took around 3 hours but generally speaking, I'm always awfully bored on the plane and I don't know what to do every time I fly somewhere. Fortunately, the time went away very fast and after I could admire the magnificent island. My hotel was located in Heraklion. This city is a place for tourists with many attractions. Actually, when I was there, there were not too many guests from all over the world. Lots of them come in summer but I don't really like crowds of noisy people. This is so exhausting then I don't regret that I decided to visit Crete in October, not earlier. If it comes to the weather, it was warm but not too hot. The sun was shining every day and there were no clouds in the sky. I even got tanned. My boyfriend rent a car so we could drive in the city to see more but I need to mention that driving there is not as easy as it might seem to be. The island is full of hills then the roads are even kind of dangerous- very narrow and scary because if you're hopeless at driving, you can end up in the sea. It's only for experienced and extremely careful drivers but if u you know how to drive well, don't hesitate to rent a car because it allows to see much more. You can't see so many stunning landscapes while walking and you can't take so many captivating pictures !
In the next post I will write about my memorable excursion to Santorini which is situated around 2 hours from Crete :)

What's up?

Hello guys! How are you? Unfortunately, I've started writing my new blog so late because of problems with my PC. I hope to add posts quite often during this semester but I don't promise because I'm very busy these days. My third year at the University started more than a month ago and I should start writing my thesis as soon as possible. For the moment, I know that it will be something related to linguistics. Other fields such as literature or translation don't appeal to me. I'm thinking of writing about English loan-words in French( or alternatively about French loan-words in Polish) but I just need to find some books about this topic area. My thesis should consist of around 29 pages( or a little bit more, I guess that up to 35 pages) so it's not a lot. I hope that I will deal with it and I truly want to defend my thesis before summer holidays. Keep your fingers crossed and by the way, good luck for all of you too !
